12/21/2006 - Wigan, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Wigan striker Henri Camara will be forced to miss his squads holiday season fixtures, as the 29-year-old twisted his knee during the first half of Wigan's Premiership loss to Sheffield United on Saturday.
"I'm hugely disappointed that I'll be missing the games over the Christmas period, not just on a personal level, but because of contributing to the team," Camara told the club's website. "I tried to battle on (after suffering the injury), at half-time it became clear that I couldn't continue."
The Senegalese forward has been ruled out for six weeks, scans showing medial ligament damage are what will keep him out of uniform until the end of January.
"The most important thing now is to knuckle down with the recovery work and make sure I'm back early in the New Year," Camara said. "I don't like missing games so I'm keen to get back on the field with my teammates as soon as possible."
Camara has earned six goals so far this season, as his club remains in the middle of the pack on the table with 22 points to date.
This doesn't help the Premiership outfit, as they are already without Lee McCulloch for a few games due to a three-game suspension, that will be in effect during this weekend's tussle with defending champion Chelsea.
